Jake Oettinger stopped all 19 shots and Arttu Hyry scored twice as Dallas shut out the Blackhawks 4-0 at the United Center on Saturday, snapping Chicago’s two-game win streak and handing Connor Bedard his first loss of the season.
Coach Jeff Blashill said the Hawks are creating more chances than early in the year but still giving up too much, while Bedard pointed to turnovers and poor support leaving the zone. Anton Frondell played a career-low 12:40 after an off night; Chicago doesn’t play again until Friday vs. Montreal, with Bowen Byram and Andrew Mangiapane eyed for progress during the break.
