Patrick Kane earned the 895th assist of his career on Connor Bedard’s opening power-play goal Thursday against Winnipeg, moving past Phil Housley (894) for the most by an American-born player in NHL history. Kane did it in his 1,377th game, 119 fewer than Housley played, and already holds the U.S.-born record for points, now at 1,404. The 37-year-old Buffalo native is in his 20th season after signing a two-year deal in July to return to Chicago.
