The Blackhawks assigned forward Dominic Toninato to the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday morning, about a week and a half after recalling him from the AHL.
The 32-year-old dressed for three games with Chicago this season. He had a goal in his lone game with Rockford before the call-up, and he heads back to an IceHogs team that’s off to a rough start.
