Rookie Anton Frondell has been handed some of the toughest matchups on the Blackhawks lately, lining up against centers like Sidney Crosby, Mark Scheifele and Wyatt Johnston, and The Hockey News’ Vinnie Parise says he’s held his own while leaning into a two-way role.
Frondell told reporters the biggest adjustment from Sweden is the schedule, going from a 52-game season to 84 games packed tightly together. Jeff Blashill praised his ability to “check for offense” and said the young center is only at the cusp of what he’ll become.
